For those of you who don’t know me, here’s my story in a nutshell. I spent several years as a musician in the U.S. Army Band before moving to Kansas City, MO. I then spent several years as a jazz drummer, performing with my own group, in and around the Kansas City area. I still perform with that group on occasion.
I started dabbling in songwriting when I was in high school. Eventually, I learned to play both the guitar and electric bass. I started purchasing recording equipment to record my songs, starting with a Fostex 4-track cassette recorder, and eventually arriving at complete home recording studio. I record all the instruments and vocals myself.
I have lots of different influences, ranging from James Taylor to Green Day. Some of the songs I write are acoustic guitar oriented, and some are pretty rocked up. Many of these are on the funny side, but some are not.
At the moment, I’m doing very few live shows, choosing instead to spend my time writing and recording, and promoting my music on the internet.
Review of Dog Island Florida: “Lyrically soothing. Waves of turquoise… I was lost in the lyrics on this one. It made me think of better times and wish I was 15 and back in Key Largo. Its’ lyrics and tranquil tone quickly drew me in. I really like the song.”
